Our summer programming has grown from two weeks to currently four weeks total and serves students from Kindergarten through junior high. Students attend three separate classes every day having the opportunity to work with three different professional artist teachers in a wide variety of art mediums. The summer art camp program at the center has become a staple in the community for many children that without these programs would not have the opportunity to have any type of artistic adventure. Since the beginning of the program over sixty - five percent of all in attendance participate on full tuition assistance from the generosity of the community and annual fund raising events specifically targeted for the summer program.
Faculty is pulled from the Art Center’s partnerships with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Art Department, The Arkansas Art’s Center and artists from the Arkansas Arts Council. Students are exposed to a wide variety of art mediums every summer at art camp ranging from watercolor, ceramics, leather crafts and many other art mediums. All classes are taught by professional artists teachers with curriculum specifically designed for the camp.
Each student has the opportunity to attend three separate classes each morning for the week. Our tuition for this camp has not changed in spite of economic changes in order to keep the camp affordable to our served demographic.
